Ethics policy
Research involving the use of genetic resources, agricultural biodiversity, or traditional knowledge of local communities must comply with current national and international legislation. Authors should mention in the manuscript access permissions and benefit-sharing agreements if applicable.
If field trials, crop evaluation, fertilizer use, or agroecological practices are reported, they must comply with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) regulations and specify the environmental conditions under which the research was carried out, guaranteeing the reproducibility of the results.
If studies on agricultural soils, soil conservation, water quality or water management are included, they should describe the methodologies used and compliance with national and international environmental regulations.
Articles reporting the use of GMOs in agricultural systems must comply with national biosafety regulations and be authorized by the pertinent regulatory entities.
Studies that analyze the environmental impact of agricultural production systems must include quantifiable evaluations of their sustainability, such as water footprint, carbon footprint, biodiversity affected, and mitigation measures implemented.
Studies that present technological innovations in agribusiness, food processing, or conservation of agricultural products must indicate compliance with national and international health and food safety regulations.
Studies on animal production must ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, specifying the methods used to minimize stress and guarantee the ethical handling of the animals.
Research involving ancestral knowledge or traditional practices of indigenous or rural communities must indicate the informed consent of the communities and comply with legislation on the protection of traditional knowledge and intellectual property rights.
